Technology is an essential tool in our students' education. We are proud to provide many opportunities with technology in grades K-4. Some of these resources include a computer lab, which provides one to one experiences, smartboards in all classrooms, desktops and netbooks in kindergarten through second grade classrooms, and are one to one with Chromebooks in each third through fourth grade classroom.
With funds from the Arkansas Department of Education Reward and Recognition Program, Sequoyah purchased Galaxy tablets, to be used in K-2 classrooms and 39 iPads to be used throughout the building. Tablets are utilized in centers to support skill development for research, to enhance lessons, for students to create multi-media presentations, and in conjunction with Project Lead the Way.
Not only are students equipped with a range of technological tools, keyboarding is also an essential component in preparing our students. Students in grades kindergarten through fourth grade are provided time to enhance keyboarding and computer operating skills. Some of these skills include word processing, emailing, and researching on the internet.
