We are building a love for reading at Sequoyah! Faculty and staff have been having a wonderful morning celebrating International Literacy Day! Kindergarten celebrated by having a Book Character Parade, First Grade had a Vocabulary Parade, and all the grades had guest readers and activities! Thank you to all those who helped with the events and read to the classes
The students and staff enjoyed getting to see the eclipse! Students practiced how to properly look at the eclipse, as well as participated in many fun activities to help understand this event. Thank you to all the parents who were able to come and enjoy this educational experience with your child.

Sequoyah Elementary modeled their computer coding skills for Governor Asa Hutchinson at RHS. While at RHS, Gov. Hutchinson toured the engineering lab and met a group of kindergartners and fourth graders. These students shared all of the recently learned knowledge acquired through Project Lead the Way and various STEAM opportunities.

3rd grader Taylor Roach, inspired by the RHS Band's participation in the 2017 Inaugural Parade, created an amazing piece of art. Fourth Grade student Olive Harrington recently participated in the 6th annual Curbside Couture recycled fashion show at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock. On the evening of October 28th Sequoyah celebrated the 50th day of school with our very own Sock Hop. This annual family friendly event has the look and feel of the iconic Sock Hops from the 1950’s. Students and staff members dress the part in poodle skirts and leather jackets. Everyone enjoys the games, dancing, and even a Moon Pie.
